PE-1000 Troubleshooting Chart


Problem  Cause  Solution
There is leak T-joint is loose Tighten t-joint
  Other joints are loose Tighten joints
  Sample heating tube is broken Replace sample heating tube
  Sample inlet nut is loose Tighten sample inlet nut
  Septum is faulty Replace to new septum
  Filter located before flow sensor is clogged Replace to new filter
  Flow sensor is broken Replace flow sensor
  Flow sensor calibration does not work fine Execute flow sensor calibration
Sensitivity drop Mercury standard solution is faulty Recreate mercury standard solution
  There is leak Fix the leak
  Sample heating tube is faulty Replace sample heating tube
  Joints and cell are soiled Replace or wash Joints and cell
  Method is not  proper Change method or reduce sample volume
  Mercury lamp is faulty Replace to new mercury lamp
  V6 valve has leak Replae to new V6 valve
  PMT is faulty Replace to new PMT
  AFS board is faulty Replace to new AFS board
Flow error Ar and/or Air cylinder gone or valve close Replace cylinder/open valve
  Clogged by sample heating tube Replace sample heating tube
  Mass flow controller is broken Replace mass flow controller
Strange peak shape / no peak V1 valve has leak Replace to new V1 valve
  V3 valve has leak Replace to new V3 valve
  Maximum H5 temperature is low
(Thermocouple position is not good or SSR/switching power supply is broken)
Adjust thermocouple position
Replace SSR/switching power supply 
  H5 does not heat up
(H5 coil or thermocouple is broken)
Replace H5 heater coil or thermocouple
  Mercury collector tube is faulty Replace mercury collector tube
High blank Sample heating tube is contaminated Replace to new sample heating tube
  Condensate trap is contaminated Replace or wash condensate trap
  Septum is contaminated Replace septum
  Joints and cell are contaminated Replace or wash Joints and cell
  Wash solution is contaminated Replace to new wash solution
  Syringe is contaminated Replace to new syringe
