Cleaning/Replacing Valves on the PE-1000

To replace or clean the valves on the PE-1000, first make certain that the analyzer is powered OFF and has had time to cool down to a safe temperature.  You will then open the blue front door and locate the two screws on the far left side of the interior panel.  Remove those two screws, allowing the front panel to swing on its hinges to the right.  Valves 1 through 5 are located on the back of this front panel, each labeled.  Please note the tubing connections by taking a photo for reference before removing any valves or tubing.  Each valve is secured by two Philips screws on the bottom side.  Follow the instructions below for removal, replacement and/or cleaning:

Before disassembling valves, it is best to place a scratch or permanent marker line on the valve body, the Teflon portion and the valve bottom to make it easier to reassemble in the proper orientation.
