Sample Fork Replacement

Sample Fork Replacement

① Turn the power OFF, open the top cover panel, and open the front cover panel.

② With the covers open, power on the instrument and start up the MA-3000 software, and open the maintenance screen.

③ Remove the Teflon joint on the front side of the fork assembly (facing you), and
then with the joint and tubing out of the way remove the three screws fixing the boat fork assembly and remove the assembly. (there will be a spring and screw spacers that will come off as well)

Put on the new boat fork assembly, ensuring that the spring in the center and spacers to the three screws are in place and able to pass freely through the holes in the linear guide. Fully tighten each screw. (Adjustment by loosening the screws is not a good option.)  Before moving forward, make certain that the arm assembly is tightly connected to the main chassis via the four screws used to release the arm assembly when replacing the catalyst tube.

⑤ Loosen the four screws on the linear guide.

⑥ Open the maintenance screen from the [RUN] menu and select BC tag, then open BC-Adjust. The passcode is "0219"

⑦ Key-in "10" to the Boat No. Field and click the Play button (►).  After each movement has stopped, click the Play button again, one step at a time, until a tray is over the boat lift and the lift picks up the sample boat (if loaded).

With the lift in the up position, fix the Fork placement by sliding the linear guide until the lift is in the center of the fork, and then tighten the four screws for the linear placement, being careful not to bump or move the placement while the screws are loose. After the screws are tight, reinstall the oxygen line and joint to the fork tube.

You may now return the lift position to the Down position by hitting the "reverse" button (◄). The physical installation of the fork is now complete, please follow this BC Adjustment Procedure for the final fine tuning adjustments.
