RA-4500 Reagent Line Cleaning
If a contaminated reagent is used, or the reagent tubing becomes contaminated, you will need to clean the reagent tubing.
1. Carry out "Reagent Discharge".
2. Empty the reagent bottle, rinse with DI water, then add nitric acid (1+10) to the reagent bottle, and execute "Reagent Filling".
3. Leave the system standing in this state for at least two hours, preferrably longer.
4. Empty the nitric acid solution in the lines by running the “Reagent Discharge" step (same as in Step 1).
5. Follow the above steps with DI water in place of the nitric acid to flush out any remaining nitric acid in the line(s).
The above procedure is for the teflon reaction tubing. It is recommended to replace a contaminated reagent pump tube because it is difficult to eliminate contamination from the pump tube due to the type of material it is made of.
