RA-4500 Cap and Bubbler Cleaning

RA-4500 Cap and Bubbler Cleaning

1.  Remove the resin screws fixing the measuring cap, and detach the cap.  The digestion side cap does not need to be removed.

2.   Once removed, there are three more screws holding the cap assembly together. Remove those screws and disassemble the cap.

3.  Put the detached parts in a container, such as a beaker, and perform ultrasonic cleaning with a neutral detergent for 15 minutes.

4.  Thoroughly rinse the parts with water, and then perform ultrasonic cleaning with nitric acid (1+10) for at least 30 minutes.

5.  Rinse them well and pour distilled water on them. Wipe the moisture off the cap with a Kimwipe and then re-rinse with distilled water.

6.  Reassemble the cap with the three screws, the bubbler will need to be pre-inserted before the three screws are tightened and adjusted to 120mm.

7.  Reinstall the reaction tubing into the cap before re-installing the cap onto the analyzer.  The yellow line is connected to the bubbler, the others are inserted into the holes in the cap.

8.  The reagent tubes should be positioned so that they extrude 15 mm out the bottom of the cap.

9.  With the reaction tubing installed, reinstall the cap onto the instrument with the three other screws and the springs.  Take note not to compress the springs too much, the bubbler will need to be final adjusted to 120 mm from the top of the sealing ring to the tip of the bubbler.

10.  Carry out a leak check to make sure that there is no leak.

11.  Run a DI water sample without reagents except for the stannous chloride, and check the blank value and peak sensitivity.
