RA-4500 Flowcell Cleaning

This procedure will explain how to clean the detector flowcell on the RA-4500 system.

First, open the optical system box, and remove the four screws holding the cell in place.

Remove the tubing from the inlet and exit and remove the flowcell assembly from the housing.

Disassemble the cell. Using a coin, remove the metal screw rings holding the cell windows in place.

Soak, or sonicate, all parts in 10% Nitric Acid solution for 30 minutes

Rinse with DI H2O and allow to dry. Ensure the windows and cell are dust free before reassembling.

Re-assemble in the reverse order.

Pay special attention to the order of the cell windows and o-rings when reassembling.
