MA-3000 Lamp Replacement Procedure
With the power off, open the optics cover, and remove the bracket that holds the lamp assembly to the chassis, and unplug the electrical connections from the board.
Before going any further, note the orientation of the lamp. If needed, mark on the base of the lamp with a permanent marker to reference for the replacement lamp. Now, with the orientation noted, remove the screws on the plate that holds the lamp in place.
The front of the lamp is shown below. Fix the lamp such that the front of the lamp is aligned with the direction of the hole in the constant temperature cap.
Attach the lamp in the reverse order of removal.
If your previous lamp was oriented in a different manner than the photo above, please orient the new lamp in the same manner as the one that is being replaced.
After it is all reassembled you will need to refer to the Optical Adjustment in the "Maintenance" under the "MA" tab to check that the voltages and gains are acceptable.
This should only be done after the instrument has been turned back on and allowed to come up to temperature for a couple of hours.
Use the automatic gain adjustment function for this.
Before the adjustment, record the constants of the current offset information and gain
information.
Push the “AUTO” button to make the automatic gain adjustment. If the difference from the constant before the alteration is abnormally large after the
automatic adjustment is made, make an adjustment again. If the difference from the
original constant is 50 or more, the adjustment will be regarded as no good.
