Audience: AGS Technical Support / Answer Bot.
Product: MA-3000 (H1/H2 heaters, SSRs, heater board / main board).
Symptoms
- H2B (or H2) heater continues heating after reaching setpoint
- SSR LED may appear to behave correctly (dim/off at setpoint) while heater still climbs
- Over-temp reset may be needed after power cycle
- In one field case, instrument had prior water exposure (hurricane)
Diagnostic steps (NIC)
1. Suspect broken SSR — Swap H2 SSR with H1 SSR. If the fault follows the SSR, replace it. H2 SSR failure is uncommon but possible (H3 fails more often).
2. Check H2 thermocouple connections on the heater board for misconnection.
3. Reset parameters Click Initialize (reset), then re-enter original parameters for that serial number (request from NIC with S/N).
4. Enable Debug Info to view heater duty:
- System → Setup → Test (password 0219) → set Debug Info to ON
- Heater duty is shown instead of setpoint temperature beside the heater temperature
- When overheating, note the duty value (duty going to 000 while temperature still rises strongly implicates SSR/hardware stuck on)
Field resolution (AGS)
- Both H2A and H2B SSRs required replacement after water damage
- After fixing H2, H1 also over-temped until main board was replaced
Notes
- Confirm software/firmware versions when escalating to NIC
- Do not redistribute NIC parameter sheets outside AGS support use without NIC permission
